Bees & Acorns

These are just some pictures I took in class a couple of weeks ago. I thought the spider's web, with the acorn caught in it, was interesting. The bees were kind of hard to capture in the current lighting. They were in the shadow of the leaves. My flash illuminated them but not without glaring off some of the leaves.

Friendly Squirrel

Tuesday on the way back from class I walked under a tree to find this squirrel watching me. It was sunny out but luckily he was in a nicely shaded area. He was quite photogenic. He hung from various tree limbs, while I photographed him, changing positions periodically.

Columbus River

September 4th

Tuesday for my Ecology class we drove down to Columbus to gather data on a section of the Columbus River. We recorded the depths and flow rates of a section of the river for future research. I had the opportunity to take a few photos.

Seattle

Visiting Seattle in the spring of 2012, I ate at a restaurant on Pier 54 named Ivar's. I sat outside afterwards and watched seagulls eat french fries out of little girls hands. These seagulls sat only inches from me; they were not shy at all.
